"What happened to Icarus if he did not drown in the sea
after his man-fashioned wings in flying too close to the sun?
In this painting he is seen walking out of the sea, dripping
wet. One of the separated wings has changed into a red and
white flamenco-dancing gypsy. Behind and to the right of Icarus'
head the fire is already collapsing.
The gods decide to let him live, but in the somewhat misshapen
body of an oversized duck. Not into a soaring eagle nor a
royal falcon. Thus one thought Icarus was dead. With redesign
on his mind he returns to his studio."
